Waterford is a boutique agistment and breeding centre situated on a 600acre property in Coolup, WA. It is run by Billeagh Marcus and Peter Thomas who, combined, have over 65 years horse experience.
The name 'Waterford' and the horse-head logo of the iconic stallion, Northern Griffin, date back nearly three decades. In 1991 Peter purchased the holsteiner weanling colt Northern Griffin (who is now enjoying retirement at Waterford three decades later). The year after that, feeling drawn to return to the region where he grew up and where his family farm, Langford Hill, was established, Peter purchased a picturesque property in the Waroona hills. With an abundance of natural springs and creeks running through the length of the 200 acre property, a short way from Hillawaters, he befittingly named it Waterford.
In 2006, a second property was purchased in Coolup. Peter established a fully equipped breeding and agistment facility on 600 acres of prime acricultural land, which he ran, with Sue Goodwin at the helm, until Sue retired in 2014.
In 2015, Billeagh and Peter moved down to the property full time and have built upon the business, now offering Artificial Breeding services and continuing to run the property as a breeding and agistment facility, alongside a productive beef cattle operation.
In 2017, with a passion for breeding strong female lines with excellent temperament, they embarked on a journey to improve their cattle herd. They breed quality Angus and Hereford cattle on a commercial and stud basis. To enquire about their bloodstock, please contact Billeagh via the contact us page.
In their spare time Billeagh & Peter enjoy playing Polocrosse, appreciating fine wines, and improving the properties.
